What Are Limiting Beliefs?
Limiting beliefs are deeply held convictions that constrain your thoughts, behaviors, and possibilities. They are usually:
- Formed in childhood (before age 7)
- Absorbed from parents, society, or experiences
- Operating unconsciously
- Felt as "truth" rather than belief
- Self-fulfilling (they create evidence of themselves)

- "Money is hard to make"

Your subconscious mind runs 95% of your behavior. If your conscious desire conflicts with a subconscious belief, the subconscious wins every time.
Example:
- Conscious: "I want to be wealthy"
- Subconscious: "Money is evil"
- Result: Self-sabotage, money slips away, you push opportunities away

How to Identify Your Limiting Beliefs
Method 1: Look at Your Life
Your external reality reflects your internal beliefs. Look at where you are stuck:
- Struggling with money? Look for money beliefs
- Single despite wanting love? Look for love beliefs
- Playing small? Look for self-worth beliefs
Method 2: The "Because" Test
Complete this sentence: "I cannot have [desire] because..."
Whatever comes next is likely a limiting belief.
Method 3: Notice Your Language
Listen to how you speak:
- "I always..."
- "I never..."
- "I cannot..."
- "I am just not the type..."
- "That is just how I am..."
These phrases reveal beliefs.
Method 4: Explore Your Triggers
Strong emotional reactions often point to beliefs. If you feel rage when you see wealthy people, you have beliefs about wealth.
How to Clear Limiting Beliefs
Step 1: Identify the Belief
Write it down clearly. "I believe..."
Step 2: Find the Origin
When did you first adopt this belief? What happened? Who said what?
Step 3: Question It
Is it absolutely true? Can you find exceptions? Who would you be without this belief?
Step 4: Create a New Belief
Write the opposite, empowering belief:
- "Money is hard" becomes "Money flows to me easily"
- "I am not enough" becomes "I am more than enough"
Step 5: Install the New Belief
Affirmations: Repeat the new belief, especially:
- First thing in morning
- Last thing at night
- When the old belief surfaces
Visualization: See yourself living the new belief.
Evidence Journal: Write down any evidence that supports the new belief.
Act As If: Behave as if the new belief is already true.
